THE GOSPEL OF JESUS (WHILE IN ISRAEL) ACCORDING TO JUDI
Jesus reconstructs a knee:
When I read about the one leper that returned and thanked Jesus for healing him, I immediately think of Rina who was in such pain the night that I met her in Jerusalem. Rina had a deteriorating knee condition that needed surgery along with a six week recovery period. Sitting beside Kent and myself she attempted to stand but could not put her foot to the ground as she was in such pain. She sat again and began to tell me of her condition. I asked her if she would like to be healed and she smiled and said yes. I placed my hand on her knee and said “be healed in Jesus name” and then I thanked Jesus for his healing power. I felt grinding and crunching under my hand within her knee. I have experienced this once before and the grinding and crunching was the reconstructing and healing power of God upon another lady’s knee some years ago. I knew Rina was healed immediately and that she was about to have a wonderful unexpected surprise. Rina then stood very carefully to find that she had no pain. Afterwards Rina joined us for dinner and then walked more than a kilometre uphill at break-neck speed to a bus stop to proceed home. She had no more pain.
Yesterday I received an email from her:
Precious Judi,
Guess what !!! I could probably run in the olympics... LOL.
Our Lord is so faithful. I have been walking everywhere with a healed knee. I have had soreness but I believe that I am using muscles that I haven't used in many years. Unaware, I must have been favoring my left leg causing my right leg to atrophy some. My leg gets stronger every day.
Thank you for your obedience to Him.
Jesus heals the blind man:
Backtracking a few days, on our first morning in the old city of Jerusalem, Kent and I dashed off to beat the tourist crowds and pray in the church that encompasses the tomb where Jesus rose from the dead. Entering the old city gate we were approached by an Armenian Jew who proceeded to tell us that we really must travel all the stations of the cross and see where each of the events took place when Jesus was arrested, tried, crucified, entombed and rose. I had prayed the night before asking God to send the person who would walk through the old city with us. I instinctively knew that our Armenian Jew was that person. After a whirl-wind tour he negotiated his price. He informed us that he had diabetes and was partially blind in his right eye. He had regular injections into the eye. I asked him if he would like us to save him that expense. I asked him if we could pray for him to be healed. He agreed (possibly not believing that he would be healed but expecting that it was the only way he could have Kent agree to his rather extravagant fee). When we prayed I simply laid my left hand over his eye and said “be healed in Yeshua’s name” We watched him check his vision. We saw a shocked, stunned face begin to smile. He said, I could only see half your face before you prayed and now I can see! He said that there was a small white spot at the top of his vision that still had no sight. I heard the Lord say to me “put your right hand on his eye”. I did so and thanked Yeshua for his healing and asked for the healing to be complete. To our friend’s surprise, his whole sight was restored. He rushed us off to meet his cousin and explained that he was no longer blind. As he told the story, the cousin’s eyes looked like they were literally going to pop right out of his head as he stared at us in shock and was unable to utter a word. There was much joy between them. It took some convincing that it was the power of Yeshua but finally he trusted our claim that Yeshua is the great healer and had indeed healed him. Our Armenien Jew friend and his cousin just encountered Jesus for the first time. The Kingdom of God has come to the two Armenian Jews living in Jerusalem.
The Good Samaritan:
When the Lord began to talk to me about Israel, I had asked Him to send us to Israel, not as tourists, but to be invited by friends. I asked the Lord to show me the kingdom of God now in Israel. He certainly fulfilled those two requests. We were invited to Israel and enjoyed being part of the prayer, worship and serving the poor in Jerusalem. We prayed for a number of people in the streets and in homes who received healing. We served a gourmet lunch to the street people. We joined in prayer rooms and worship services.
Arriving home again in Pattaya I heard the Lord say to me that the Kingdom of God is like the good Samaritan and that Kent was the good Samaritan. I waited for understanding and then remembered that as we were driving through the area in Israel where the event of the Good Samaritan would have taken place, we had to divert that evening near Tiberius to rush a young man to the emergency department at an Arab hospital. Upon arrival the man was treated immediately and was given very good care. As in Jesus story, the good Samaritan took the patient to the inn and paid the bill for the patient’s care. Kent could see that no one was able to attended to the admission fee so he simply paid the amount without hesitation.
Sometimes it is the most ordinary things that impress God. The care we take of each other is “the Kingdom of God”. In as much as the miracles of healing were exciting and continued as we travelled, to God, he noticed and remarked on Kent’s kingdom behaviour. He has recorded it in heaven and is holding it for reward. The Kingdom of God is alive and well in Israel and all over the world today.
Never underestimate the seemingly small acts of kindness, the encouragement and the care we take of each other. There is great reward for these in heaven.
